We undertook an assignment which required us to utilise biotechnology in order to design solutions to everyday environmental needs. Using the designs briefs provided by my project group, I drafted and modelled a modular greywater treatment system.
Grey water is fed through each module. Algae technology is employed to convert the greywater into treated water that can be reused in the household such as dishwashing, watering and washing.
It is designed to complement existing kitchens with minimal installation requirements. Each module stacks seamlessly onto each other to accommodate the desired volume in each household's water usage. Greywater flows through each module to be treated and deposited into a water reservoir.
Growlight modules are considered for households or areas with low sunlight intake to promote algae growth.
